Perth is the city that I come from
But it ain't where I wanna stay
Being grounded doesn't sit with me
I wanna spread my wings and fly away
Reach for the heights of Glory
Give someone else a better day, better yet
Contribute to the progress of society
Baby steps I ain't mature enough anyway but anyday
Now I'd be keen to leave my mark
Spar with the force of inertia and shoot for the stars
Doesn't matter if I miss
The confidence to be yourself is more important than what others think

Carnarvon is the place that I moved to
To see a little change amongst normally what I would do
But amongst all the reasons that I would change
Helping others triumphs all the other small things
People wonder why I would move there
Uproot a life just to go to a country square,
When theres as many opportunities to make a difference
Sitting outside of my house and talking to my friends
But if you follow your heart
And act on conscious knowledge thought
Then why not take the leap of faith
Instead of sitting in a comfortable space
I'd never put a guarantee over a dream
The beauty of a guarantee is that its always guaranteed
And the outcome doesn't seem to change wherever you are seen, see
Whether I'm in Perth or Mexico
In the skys or riding on a horse in a green meadow
My study will always be available
And casual jobs are always changeable, thats favourable
The opportunity to help my fellow Australians was present
And I had a hunch they needed it more than my GT brethren
So I spent a year planning my travels to allow me to spend more time in the northern end of it
And I don't regret a thing
Having the best time I sing
Bat of choice I took a swing
Definitely do it again

I've missed many shots so my friends know im sober
I missed many steps so I fell down the stairs
I mistook some mistakes for big breaks and escapes
Some headaches that became the reason I'm insane
But also the reason I behave this way and I'm proud of the man
That I've grown into today
Is cos I've kept running even though the wrong way
And pavement is wonky and distance aint easy
I'm happy for who I've become, life lessons learnt aren't easy to swallow
Its kept me running though feet are blistered and bleeding, and haven't worked out since 2018, oh woe is me
But every rain cloud a rainbow closely follows, every shot taken is a lesson learnt tomorrow, all my life I thought Failure is sorrow but its raised my tempo, helped me forgo my shadows and given me a golden glow
