Solar Flare

Cutting a deep groove
Rolling back to you
Obstacles removed
Got nothing to prove
Lightning on the move

Rocking like a meteor and
Charging like a minotaur
Jetting like the French concord and
Cresting on a wood surfboard

Ride a solar flare
Wind in my hair
Truth or double dare
Without a care

Levitate to you
Beneath a full moon
Sun-spotted bejewelled
Glycerin fuel

Shooting star skimming right across the vacant desert sky
Travelling light speed to be back your waiting and warming side
Arcing a broad streak above the saluting stoic cacti
Ziplining a sling trajectory hanging yet holding high

You penned a poignant piece seeking my prompt release
Quickly spun around inquired what do you mean
Deserted in a canyon for a fortnight times two
With a gunny sack and head full of thoughts about you

And I retreat back into my cave
Where I toil yeah and am enslaved
If one could see my meagre plight
By my side, they would stand and fight

Launch a flare to your heart
Etch and sketch on the chart
And can't you see with your eyes
Across the stars how it plies

As I plummet down from the mountaintop
Full velocity cannot hit full stop
Barreling headfirst as the brakes are shot
Spigot yields not a solitary drop
Edging back within the thin atmosphere
Predestined fate quickly approaching near
Unrelenting progress no room to veer
Autopilot locked now abandon steer
