Solace
I stand on the shoulders of giants
March forward to Zion
Let bygones be bygones
But I'm not the one you want to try
When it comes to writing
Cause I do my thing, I think for myself
And keep alignment with the one true King
Take a deep breath
I've left the quantum of solace
It's a fortress of solidarity
Some amongst us have fallen
My calling was to bring knowledge
With rhymes written in scripture
Symbols transcribe from images
Hieroglyphics and pictures
Vintage instruments which
A gifted poet knows is the only
Way to convey hope or motives
Or motivate someone hopeless
I'm hoping you hold me accountable
Count on me and I'm bound
To break boundaries and expectations
All the while while I'm astounding you
I bow my head
When I'm sending a message up
If messing up comes with the territory
Glory's dependent on luck
But in my message I beg and plead
That I be the exception
To be the best me I can be
Without ever wasting a second, and
I stand on the shoulders of giants
March forward to Zion
Let bygones be bygones
But I'm not the one you want to try
When it comes to writing
Cause I do my thing, I think for myself
And keep alignment with the one true King
I said I bow my head
When I'm sending a message up
If messing up comes with the territory
Glory's dependent on luck
But in my message I beg and plead
That I be the exception
To be the best me I can be
Without ever wasting a second, I get it
Beggars can't be choosers
Theres doers and losers
Who in this room can say rumors
And truths aren't what's used to groom us
It's on you to choose
What you should do
And what needs to be done
You've got the cards so chip up and flip em
Or whip em and run
I don't want a shred or spec of respect
That I didn't earn
And in turn I'd expect to get nothing less
Than what I deserve and it's worth
Fighting for if you don't get it
Cause if you let it happen
You've acted on their behalf
And deserve what you get
I stand on the shoulders of giants
March forward to Zion
Let bygones be bygones
But I'm not the one you want to try
When it comes to writing
Cause I do my thing, I think for myself
And keep alignment with the one true King
I stand on the shoulders of giants
March forward to Zion
Let bygones be bygones
But I'm not the one you want to try
When it comes to writing
Cause I do my thing, I think for myself
