A Couple Days Away

The phone rang and her momma yelled "It's that boy again from Hartsville"
And he talked about his weekend plans with her
They'll meet up at the picture show, share a milkshake before they go
And they argued over who would hang up first

He dreamed of being a doctor so he had to leave her

Five hundred miles away but he would write her everyday
