Mary's Christmas

What is my purpose, what am I?
Was just a tree, now filled with light
Feel the profane, not the profound
Christmas is truly all around
The air is filled with joyous sound

So small and helpless in your might
No Father Christmas in my sight
My needles stabilized to frost
Yet against this their power's lost
Christmas is good, but at what cost?

Lights and candles, colored orbs
Chocolate and candy canes
Decorate me at your whim
Nevermind my will

Christmas!

This Christmas fluff shall be removed
Cut off the source I find in you
A mediocre Christmas tree
To satisfy your lust and greed
Is this what you truly believe?
