The Storm

Who are we, without light
Truthfully, uninspired
Two in me, different sides
Who can see, when they're blind

On a boat feeling waves all around me
Not a coastline in sight, it's just all sea
Had I known I would break what's inside me
I'd have chose to abstain from the high seas

In a storm for many years until I reached the eye
So many warnings still I forfeited some peoples lives
A messy mutiny, my crew left me speak or die
But as I grew to see a few had followed in my stride
What had taken place, moments just before the strike
Looking for the vase, but the bottle stood there all but dry
Feelings of disgrace, they would follow later on that night
Feeling all the rage, made me hollow and I lost my mind
I got lost in time, all I wanted was on my mind, I looked harder to find the light
But the darkness was all I'd find, Like a martyr I thought I died
To my surprise, my partner let out a line
The darker setting sky is, the charter cant rest his eyelids
The stars have led us to find this remarkable desert island
I want you to get inside of your body, don't let us die
You're the one who lead us this far
The sun will set when are on the other side
You can rest in my arms

On a boat feeling waves all around me
Not a coastline in sight, it's just all sea
Had I known I would break what's inside me
I'd have chose to abstain from the high seas

The unknown the place I'd reach when I would race the tide
The waves were slow a day or so I let the anchor dry
But as the clouds approached the crowd would go to say goodbyes
And I knew how to float I drowned the boat to save my life
On that fateful night, God displayed a ray of light
Found me fading white, but she brought me back and saved my life
I could say I tried, but I honestly had paid a price
That had changed my life, turned a traitor almost overnight
Used to hold the light, rescued those with a closing sight
As the ocean would flow for nights and their clothes became cold as ice
I don't know when the hole inside became larger than hope in life
It was harder to find the opening, hoping that no one's sight
Fell on me when I fell inside, hell is deep but the well inside
never ceased to dispel the lies fed to me by the devils spies
If a reason to get inside, let it be to remember lives
Of the people we lost tonight, lives exhausted so that we may cross the divide
