Devil's Hand

I've been out here for days busting my back to make my pay
And the boss man keeps telling me I still got a long way
I'm running short on patience and I'm down to my last dime
Praying to the Lord for a miracle and the Devil's for my next line

See the Devil came a knocking on my door one Friday night
He said if you won't on this ride it's gonna cost you your life
Cuz you can't serve two masters
I agree with the man upstairs
So I'll give you a couple of hours to settle your affairs

Well I got a long way to go to get the Hell out of here
When the sun comes up tomorrow the mortgage bills are due
If the Lord could come and help me that sure would be grand
Then I might not be so tempted to hold the Devil's Hand

So I thought long and hard about what I'd stand to loose
If I held the Devil's Hand and made a living singing the blues
You know it didn't take me long and I knew what I had to do
Now I'm praying to the Lord for forgiveness and the Devil my next tune.
