Plot Armor

We're at 9,000, but they're 9001!
At some point long before that this story arc stopped being fun.
Boiling demise or salvation down to one smug individual?
Oh, how original. That's not at all predictable.

Another last minute rescue is imminent.
The danger on display here is impotent.
Another boring short lived predicament.
Killing every omnipotent force before them.

I can't keep up with the power creep
I'm not willing to suspend my disbelief
The hero jumped over seventeen sharks
Just to reach the final boss
And somehow nothing of value was lost.
I can't keep up with the absurdity
I'm not willing to suspend my disbelief
The hero went to battle in a thong
But they're armored by the plot
And somehow nothing of value was lost.

The odds of survival seem 1,000,000 to 1.
But their names are in the title, don't insult my intelligence.
Resting the fate of our species on the shoulders of a few individuals?
How typical and not at all insufferable.

Another big budget low risk production.
With nothing to offer once deconstructed.
I'm so tired of bland reproductions
Lazily made for mass consumption.

I can't keep up with the power creep
I'm not willing to suspend my disbelief
The hero jumped over seventeen sharks
Just to reach the final boss
And somehow nothing of value was lost.
I can't keep up with the absurdity
I'm not willing to suspend my disbelief
The hero went to battle in a thong
But they're armored by the plot
And somehow nothing of value was lost.

"And so the hero defeated the villains, ushering in an era of peace.
But peace is boring,
so please enjoy this montage as the credits roll!"
