The Crawling Nightmare

She reads a book in her favourite wing chair
A story of vampires and ghosts
The kind of stuff that would normally thrill her
But she feels nothing at all

Life is so pointless
All amusement is gone
Life is so useless
Only hope remains

She walks through a wood on a beautiful morning
A deer crosses her way
She tries to enjoy what is naturally exciting
But she feels nothing at all

Life is so pointless
All amusement is gone

Give me something I can laugh about
That makes the time go by
Show me something that makes me cry
The emotions should run high
Just say something that touches me
In these tedious days
Is it gonna last for the rest of my life?
Is it a nightmare that stays?

Lots of weed in the back seat of a small car
And a bottle of booze
Looking for salvation under the light of the evening star
But she feels nothing at all

Life is so pointless
All amusement is gone
Life is so useless
Only hope remains

Give me something I can laugh about
That makes the time go by
Show me something that makes me cry
The emotions should run high
Just say something that touches me
In these tedious days
Is it gonna last for the rest of my life?
Is it a nightmare that stays?

The very next day
She draws all of her money
And travels to the Spanish coast

She enters a jazz club
Sits down at the piano
And plays a song she wrote

And after she's finished
There comes an old man
Saying: "That was a masterpiece!"

And in this moment
The magic happens
She takes a deep breath
She feels alive
