Stray Bullet

The glaciers have drained from the mountains
Their ice caps have dragged to the south
The streams have bled to the ocean
Marianas opens her gaping mouth

We gaze upon the ruins
This planet's broken ribs
Smoke stack lungs breathe cancer
Repaying what we give
Strip the gold mines of their riches
Soak the trees in lye
Eager to become closer to God
We burned a hole in the sky

We'll tell ourselves we did all we could
As Elysium burns in the wake of the flood
The gallows are swinging; ready for the hang
Destruction of ego leaves no one to (blame)
Pray to the sun for the tears to burn away
Claiming repentance cry
"Never again, never again!"
As above, so below
Would God lay to waste
The Garden He built in the name of His grace

Destruction came like a stray bullet
Creation defaced
With sombering hands
Ancient of Days pulls us closer
Laced as one, we all cross over

Give the pale rider his bow and his crown
A second beast in flames stampeding its hooves into the ground

The stars fell from the sky and the Earth began to quake
The sky rolled up like a scroll; Hades showed its face
The Sun turned an oily black, the Moon's white turned to blood
The Seventh seal broke and Heaven fell into a hush

Like suicide by a stray bullet
The Sun flickers out
These sombering hands
Won't let go Heavenly Father
Intertwined, their Souls sink farther
