Four Seasons

The birds keep singing like it's Spring
I heard there's snow still to come
Blossom emerging on branches
When February's barely begun

We still like to think of Four Seasons
For every lap round the sun
But recently I've lost my bearing
It's like four seasons blurring to one

I feel an uncertainty stirring
A dis-ease beginning to grow
Anomalies continue recurring
The cracks are beginning to show

This is just wind on the water
There's something greater below
The ripples you see at the surface
Are a sign of some great undertow

Hear that wind howl
Hear it's mournful lament
The crash of the rain coming down

The dam is just about holding
I wonder how long it can last
Calling all hands to bail out
The water is rising and fast

There's a dark shadow on the horizon
Or so says the man up the mast
And I've got feeling Four Seasons
May soon be a thing of the past
