Snowblind

To feel alive
Had to defy death on the daily
To play it safe was a fate worse
Addicted to the thrill
Of knowing that you might get killed
At least I didn't catch that curse

He'd gone snow-blind
What a silly way to lose your mind
When he made his last descent
With no regard for what it meant

An early grave
The mountain made another martyr
Buried under blankets, met her wrath
Eyes went white
In dark daylight
Oh child, do not tread that path

He'd gone snow-blind
Losing sight of what he'd left behind
His smile froze in place
Snowflakes smothered his face

He'd gone snow-blind
Never one to stop and read the signs
At last he lost his way
Sank into a snowy day
