Contrast

I was lookin' up at Pikes Peak when I thought about my cards
And felt that I was flush with hearts
My life it wasn't perfect, no, and neither was my wife
She pulled to dark, I pulled to light

And that contrast it just magnified
The next two years went by
And soon the gulf became too wide

To pull us through
So memories of her will have to do

When she met me I was broken, driftin' on and off the net
She was my cure and my best friend
I only met her once but know I probably spent more time
With her than everyone combined

What I loved became what she loved
And what she loved became me
But I was scared to let love be

So now we're through
And memories of her will have to do

So take me back to Oakville or I'll ride the GO Train there
I've gotta see her curly hair
I never met her sister and she never met my mom
But still declared she was the one

She taught me about cameras and
She taught me how to love
But turns out mine was not enough

To pull her through
So memories of her will have to do

Yeah memories of her will have to do
