Moonlit Skies

I look to the ether
The emptiness spiralling by
And all of the planets
The galaxies catching my eye
I'm caught in the wonder
Which of these planets hold life?
I look to the ether
And I'll wait as the day turns to night

For every sun that rises to the East
Sky turns to peach to say goodbye
And every time the sky turns red
I see you high up there
And I'm reminded that I'm fine

Under moonlit skies, I'm new
Now I've caught a glimpse of you
In the midnight hours, I feel empowered

I still see the spinning
Around my head
We're still in the Winter
'Cause time just doesn't make sense
I look to the ether
And watch as the sky turns dark
I hold my excitement
And I'm hoping the clouds will part

And every time the sky turns red

A tiny dot of red appears
And just as time brings change
I know that as I age, I'll grow
But you'll still watch me way down here
