I'll admit it, it didn't come easy
As you know I grown up believing
that unless I could prove something
by a formula, or in a test tube, or by one of the five senses
It had to be rejected

But there can be more than one approach to truth
One of my troubles was that I failed to realise
That the discovery of the whole truth
must come from mankind's total experience
Not just from our so called intellectual approach

In other words you know you love her
But there's no way you can measure it with a scientific instrument

Well then just because science can't measure
such things as love, faith and hope doesn't mean they aren't real
You see Joe there's more to this world and to human life
Than the demonstrable physical realities
There is a world of a spirit
Which is just as real as the world of
chemistry and physical science
(Joe) - But how can you prove that it's real?
