The Mission

I was born the same day
As the Rodney King riots
It's no wonder these poems in me
Can't remain quiet
Can't remain silent
Amidst the violence
And the sirens
Ringing in between the silence
And red flashing lights
Waving under my eyelids
Attempting to plant seeds
Of panic and pandemic virus
But I got God in my iris
God in my heart
You can call me a human hybrid
Christ in my blood
You can say I'm from Sacred Tribesmen
With divinely guided
Soul-sighted steps
And a vibrant mind
To remind the rest
Of the light that's incited
When belief in yourself
And Spirit is ignited
And your dreams you envision
Then sit down and write it
So it's written
The lows and highs of the times
In these rhymes I be spitting
And if ever you feel
Something is missing
Close your eyes and vibe
To the flows of your own vision
And know to love your self
From the soul is the only mission
To love your self from the soul
Is the only mission
