For the Last Time

I wanna go to school and I wanna have some fun
But there's not a school in town that'll have me
I'd like to go to sleep and dream away past miseries
But all the bedroom doors are closing early
And you hang around just to tell me lies about myself
Now your head is on my pillow and my hands are on the bells
They're ringing out in the morning, to wake up
The haze over this town that keeps its people sleepy, and boring
We're going back to ours
And the crowds all cheers as we pull out of the park
The hands are clasping shoulders for the last time

I'd like to legally walk barely down the crescent equally
I'm confident when I walk down my own hallway
I've been standing waiting trying to make into a painting
Makeshift worries on tax papers I'm ignoring
Well the cat's in the bag sorry he won't be coming out very soon
So I throw another sack of sand, the man says my hot air balloon

Needs to come down, well I calm down
As I see my city come into sight
Did I break down, such a shakedown
Your hand's in mine and the TV's singing like
La la la la, la la la la la
I've got worries, you've got troubles, we've got time
Let's leave them in the sky
In the sky

Well you had an amazing thought
But never had the chance to put it into words
So you jumped from the thirteenth floor
Straight into my head well I needed a haircut anyway

And your chest falls into mine
You haven't got it into your head quite yet
That you're not getting into mine
Well that's good, cause I'll meet her later anyway
What can I say as you stand me up for the first time
And for the last time I don't want to drive

Put back your clothes on
It goes hand in hand with what's wrong with you
Now that the crowd's gone home I can crawl home too
But it isn't a path to take lightly
Reign your head in
Cause it's raining and you're getting quite wet and too cold
And I'll bet you were told
That something magical would happen on a day like this
