Chester On the Beach

I knew an old man, name was Chester
Nicest man you'd ever meet
Loved the waves upon the ocean
And the sand beneath his feet
Now when Chester was a young boy
His family moved to Tennessee
Came much to his surprise when
He found there was no beach

Little Chester's heart was broken
After that he'd rarely speak
The thought of splashing in the water
Made his little heart so weak
So when Chester was much older
At the ripe age of eighteen
He set out for his ocean, he set out for his dream

He said," Hot damn, me oh my, I can't wait to lie
Under that blue sky there upon the beach.
Hot damn, me oh my, I can't wait to lie
Under that blue sky there upon the beach, there upon the beach. "

All the people in town wondered
So they had to ask him,
"Why would you leave it all behind here?"
And to this he would reply,
"You can keep your Rocky Mountains,
Keep your crowded city streets.
Give me one day on the ocean
And one night spent on the beach.
I could lay down with my lover,
Let the waves crash at our feet.
All the white sand and blue water
Never seen a sight so sweet."
And he said, " Hot damn, me oh my, I can't wait to lie
Under that blue sky there upon the beach.
Hot damn, me oh my, I can't wait to lie
Under that blue sky there upon the beach, there upon the beach."
Chester on the beach
Here's the moral of the story
To your dreams you must be true
'Cause this life just ain't worth living
If you ain't living it as you
And in case you all were wondering
What became of Chester Rue
You can find him on the gulf coast
Right beside his ocean blue

And he'll say, "Hot damn, me oh my, finally I can lie
Under my blue sky here upon the beach.
And Lord, if I should die
Leave my bones to dry under my blue sky
Here upon the beach, here upon the beach, here upon the beach."
