Lost in Forever

Why does it feel like I have been here before?
This place is like a dream, a solid hologram, no more,
I've felt a few familiar souls, that seemed to hit so close to home,
I know I've bumped into them, whether in the last life,
or an infinity ago,

Why does it feel like I am being recycled?
over and over again, stuck in limbo,
My Earthly spirit so old, I'm nothing but tired,
I miss the the place from before,
How do I ascend out of this cycle?

This never ending figure eight,
'cause I'm perpetually circling this endless spiral
Like a massive ocean turning,
and I can't even remember the shore,

Because this reality is a single frame of eternity,
And deep down inside I know, that I have been here before,
Remembering countless lifetimes of searching for doors,

And I feel like I am stuck in forever,
With no way out, like all connections are severed,
My soul too old to atone, every day I feel like a clone,
I feel like I'm lost and like I'll never feel quite at home,

I don't recall, but I must've insulted the devil,
'cause this place is hell, I must have thought I would never,
Be kept here boxed-up so long, I must have done some real wrong,
To be so full of metaphors that I easily fill up these songs,

This world is the mind of a psychotic man inside of an insane asylum
And I find myself alone in my awareness of all the wreckage and chaos,

This place is the kind where one could lose one's mind,
cause it's a slippery slope, a sudden drop to the bottom,

And all those who fall, very quickly find,
it's an impossible climb, and they descend into madness
