Varsity

I remember 8th grade
It feels like it was yesterday
We vowed to never break ties
But people tend to change their minds
Never felt so alone
Cause all of us are leaving home
Can't be sad we're grown up
So I'll see you when the summer comes

The bedrooms in our hometown
Are empty except grad gowns
And four years worth of memories
It's no longer all of us
Say goodbye to the cry club
We're nothing except old stories

Dreams bigger than we were
Some fade out by summer
Losing them like airplanes
Come and go all the same
Isn't it what we want
Close our eyes and it's gone
Something doesn't feel right
I'm not at the other side

I just wanna make it
What if I don't make it?
Endings are always bittersweet
Except that I don't wanna leave
But graduation day is just 3 months away
My friends became my family
And I think we're all ready
To take on the world, we're at the top, we're varsity

The bedrooms in our hometown
Are empty except grad gowns
And four years worth of memories
It's no longer all of us
Say goodbye to the cry club
We're nothing except old stories
