Off The Porch
I remember my first fight like it happened last night
10 years old I was living in the Wood
Me and all my friends doing hood rat things being bad terrorizing we was up to no good
Well I guess this dude thought he was tough or something
Tried to throw me to the ground like I'm a punk or something
He threw the first swing then a whole crowd came
Marcia's son ain't no sucka it was time to throw them thangs
I remember rolling on the ground swinging hard as I can
Next thing I know it was over faster than it began
They said I won I was feeling like a boss my nose started bleeding so they said that I lost
So we shook hands as we left each other
On the way home scared to face my brothers
Because I knew eventually they'd hear I didn't win
So they'd send me back out I'd have to fight dude again
I guess I'm jumping off the porch
Fast forward to this new era of these skinny jean wearers
Talking about they thuggin' who they really think they are
Thinking that they're hard really trying to play the part
But how you gone be hard when you ain't got heart
Gotta be the result of a birth defect
All they're popping is pistols and some percocets
What happened to the days when there was beef on the block
You could run a fair one without the fear of being shot
But everybody got a gun now quick to pull them guns out
Cowards lifting guns up brothers getting gunned down
Families in the streets praying for all the peace
Don't even get me started on the punk police
Y'all packing heat thinking y'all a man now
You want to earn respect show them what them hands about
Because we can put the gloves on do it just for sport
Let the whole neighborhood be the judge like it's court
Jumping off the porch
Rest In Peace to anybody who lost their life due to gun violence
Just imagine all the people that would still be here if it wasn't for it
PAC Biggie Nipsey just to name a few
It's about time we put those guns down and put your fist up
Boy we're jumping off the porch
