The Roundabout

I see the glow of population
Red and white lights of circulation
The welcome coasts of my nation
Sailing on the face of
Where the shells are placed
And all the seaweed is laced
I'm not sure what that village is named
But the streets resemble the same
The same yellow lines that run alongside
The street

And it wears estuaries
Like accessories
And I've not seen them before
You must have bought some new jewellery

There's so much dark air
The bright light down there
Warms me with it's stare
Despite the mess
I've not seen you for some time
This time has flown by
It's only a couple of weeks
Before I see the other side
Again

I arrive feeling like an alien
I've never been to this station
But it was where I was running late and made it
And that fast food location
Signage planting the idea and temptation
But Mum always says there's food at home waiting

And it wears estuaries
Like accessories
And I've not seen them before
You must have bought some new jewellery

There's so much dark air
The bright light down there
Warms me with it's stare
Despite the mess
I've not seen you for some time
This time has flown by
It's only a couple of weeks
Before I see the other side
Again

I know
I'm home
When I see the plane's wings
And we just crossed
The M1
And CD still sings

I know
I'm home
When I see the plane's wings
And we just crossed
The M1
And CD still sings

And it wears estuaries
Like accessories
And I've not seen them before
You must have bought some new jewellery

There's so much dark air
The bright light down there
Warms me with it's stare
Despite the mess
I've not seen you for some time
This time has flown by
It's only a couple of weeks
Before I see the other side

There's so much dark air
The bright light down there
Warms me with it's stare
Despite the mess
I've not seen you for some time
This time has flown by
It's only a couple of weeks
Before I see the other side
Again

Again
