Wildlife Crossing

Hree objects in frame outlined
By red against a black backdrop
The movement catches his eye
Birds of prey descend upon

Two isolated islands
Currents shifting dirt between their shores
Over tropical waves, all the same
Time lapse shows the process bears no

Net gain at all
Climb lasts long as the fall
I'm talking instant disassembly
Of the constructs keeping her above

Who she wants to be
Laughing in her sleep
Better comrade than a husband
But she knew that when she signed on

To watch us eat a piece of ourselves and fill in the cracks
