Fine Thread

Before the flood comes in of things you have to do
Do you have a chance to open your eyes and see the new day through
As you are walking do you have a chance to see
The way the clouds are rolling and to hear the rustling of the leaves

There is a very fine thread like a spiders web, that we use to connect with what's real
Where did you get your daily bread, and from whom did you have to steal
It's fanciful to remember the natural cycles and try to keep them in view
You need to be fanatical or a radical to live with the sun and the moon

Water comes from more than a tap
The trees are bringing the wildlife back
Mountains are for climbing and rivers are for lining our minds with sound and froth
Poems are for writing and stars are for sighting
And some turn to butterflies, others to moths
Do dee do

Taking a ride on a planet that rounds the sun
There's a moon, long ago the Earth and the Moon were one
There's tides of the ocean and of our inner emotional way
There's a thin line that binds our current state to the passing day

And it's a very fine thread like a spiders web that we use to connect with what's real
It seems like sustenance coming from the fountain of lies, but how does it feel
I guess I am a radical because I like the natural pause of the land where I live
I'm sorry that you're in such a hurry, that the scenes go right past you
The magnificent scenes the Earth gives
Oh don't be in such a hurry that you're missing the magnificent scenes the earth gives
Oh don't be in such a hurry that you're missing the magnificent scenes the earth gives
Oh don't be in such a hurry that you're missing the magnificent scenes the earth gives
