Intuitive at my expense I sheltered a lie
Embracing all false evidence and couldn't rely
On what was real and justified
To never look back into your vacant wounded pride

Lay down those weak defenses bow down
No time for second chances
Still feeding on the glances rewound

All that I gave was not enough to level the field
Same reasons smoothing out this rough and futile appeal
Fell down an ancient cul-de-sac to never return
Then drown in everything I lack
But those who say life is beautiful
Don't drown when they know the glass is full
They stand erect in the face of it all
It's been a challenge lately
