Drive

Five days straight of driving
90 miles an hour
Flying low alone along with
Everybody else
Nine state lines behind me
I can taste the open road
The only time I have to stop for
Gas and a pack of smokes

'Cause if I stop then I'll get tired
If I get tired then I'll sleep
And if I sleep I won't wake up
But there's this drive inside of me
That keeps me Riding fast to find You
When a truck pulled out in front me
And I swerve to the right to avoid it
But in my mind I swear I saw it
Disappear right in front of my Eyes
It was too late I was sliding Sideways
There was only 27 miles of Lonely road in front of me to go And even though

I've still got a long way to go

When I came to I was upside Down
My whole bike was up in smoke
Wiped the blood and gravel From my face and grabbed the Marlboro's in my coat
A couple thousand miles behind Me
I can run run run the rest
Broken ribs despair surrounds Me
Head down and keep heading West

Cause if I stop and I'll get tired
If I get tired then I'll sleep
And if I sleep I won't wake up
But the drive inside of me
Picked me up and brushed me off and sent me on the way to where I need to be
And the silence becomes a stranger if the life I left of anger takes my hand and leads me here
To the place I always feared as a lost man on the run from the person I was always meant to be
I guess we'll see

I will drive all night through Your head and twist
I will drive all night
Through your head
I will drive all night
Through your head

'Cause if I stop and I'll get tired if I get tired then I'll sleep
And if I sleep I won't wake up
Picked me up and brushed me off
And sent me on the way to where I need to be
