Dreamland (feat. Julia Rest)
Let me tell you all a story about another life
It's the harrowing tale of a great man
It's the story of a man and his lovely wife
And I guess that you could say I'd be his biggest fan
He's had many people that have held him dear
Most of them until the very end
And without him well I would never be here
And this is where our story begins-begins
World keeps turning
We keep learning
It's in our hands
Make our dreamland
Six months before his birth his own father died
His mother remarried and she was cast aside
Fourteen years later he'd be petrified
As he watched the life leave from his mothers eyes
From then on he knew that he'd be on his own
But before that he had to stay at his aunt's home
He enlisted in the army at seventeen
And it was there that he was losing sight of his dreams
South Pacific in nineteen forty-three
He was being shot at by the Japanese
He was scared and fighting for his life
So he dedicated himself to Christ
He came home and worked in electricity
When he was at a pub he met a girl and instantly
They hit it off and dated for a few years
And soon at their wedding her mama would be shedding tears
World keeps turning
We keep learning
It's in our hands
Make our dreamland
World keeps turning
We keep learning
It's in our hands
Make our dreamland
City chairman and political campaigns
Union leader yo he had it made
Fixed on setting up the world he was building
For the day when he would have his children
Born a proud Irish
He passed it to his kids
In 1954 that's exactly what he did
He and his wife gave birth to a son
So keep listening cuz I'm not done
He had three more plus two girls
That would turn life into quite the swirl
He raised them all well
And retired in his 60's
To travel the world with his love
Like Ulysses
He was a strong man
And never was sickly
But soon that would change
Very quickly
The doctor came in and told him it was cancer
He knew that God was the only answer
Lying in his bed on december third
He passed away peacefully with no dying words
He rose from the darkness
He lived his life with honor
And that is why
I'm proud that he's my grandfather
World keeps turning
We keep learning
It's in our hands
Make our dreamland
World keeps turning
We keep learning
It's in our hands
Make our dreamland
It's the harrowing tale of a great man
