Flew Between the Devil and the Sea

When Daedalus and his son Icarus
Were imprisoned by King Minos of Crete in a tower
Daedalus a master craftsman found a way to escape
He created two pairs of wings
Constructed from the feathers of birds
And glued together with the wax from candles
This was the only way for him and Icarus to escape
To fly across the sea and to return back home
Before Icarus received a pair of wings to escape the tower
Daedalus warned Icarus
Fly between the sun and the sea
Don't fly too close to the sun
For the heat will melt the wax on your wings
And if you fly too close to the sea
The water will clog your feathers and you
Will drown
