Gylve The Goat

Sun in the sky, beating down on the river where Gylve was taking a drink
His hooves on the ground, his head in the water, as his mind slowed down
His worries were left behind, whilst he floated away on a journey that he'll never leave

There was something not quite right that day, as his eyes went astray
As he questioned his place in the world
The water was tainted as he found himself stumbling over
The notion of a higher self
Then he felt his eyes start to narrow, the sensation started fading away
He went back to the river, to lower his lips to the potion
To restore the feeling that he had gained

The amber golden light shining, he could see all around
Not restricted by a rectangular stare now the liquid had broadened his mind
He lay covered by branches so green, a place that he could call his own
Greeted by travellers so weary and pained
So he shared his secret so they could escape

There was something not quite right that day, as his eyes went astray
As he questioned his place in the world
The water was tainted as he found himself stumbling over
The notion of a higher self
Then he felt his eyes start to narrow, the sensation started fading away
He went back to the river, to lower his lips to the potion
To restore the feeling that he had gained

Gylves legacy spread far across the land
Crowds gathered before him to sample his potion so they could see through his eyes
He was seen as a four legged saviour, they said his horns could reach for the skies
But Gylve was a humble traveller himself, until he discovered the river

There was something not quite right that day, as his eyes went astray
As he questioned his place in the world
The water was tainted as he found himself stumbling over
The notion of a higher self
Then he felt his eyes start to narrow, the sensation started fading away
He went back to the river, to lower his lips to the potion
To restore the feeling that he had gained

The water was tainted as he found himself stumbling over
The notion of a higher self
A higher self
He went back to the river, to lower his lips to the potion
To restore the feeling that he had gained
