Cold Weather Sweater

Deep breath before you jump off the boat
Deep breath before you set foot in the dark
I'm in sinking sand and I can't feel my hands
As they wrap around anything that keeps them still
Keeps them still to hold onto

I'm thin, I'm skinny, but I'm not better
I feel good and I should in a cold weather sweater
Each thought of mine is in decline and I'm untethered
Can't figure out what I'm about and I'm light as a feather

All was quiet as the snake robbed the bird's nest
I'm not sure if I'll survive without something to eat
Of course I'll come out but I won't look my best
And I don't believe this night won't end in defeat
End in defeat for you and me

But I shake nearly break when unwinding belt leather
