In the Fall

Backroad dreams draped with gold leaves
Barren trees blowing in the breeze
Tennessee where we lived like Kings and Queens
When we were Young, in love and seventeen

This life's bitter yet this life's sweet
What we had then is what I can see
Laying here, stuck in faded dreams

Come on let me find my way
Without leaving, you in the past of this place
These three long years have changed all our moments
But in the fall it still feels the same

Evening stars dancing through the dark
It's your eyes; in those nights love was free
Mountain scenes and valley streams feel so make believe
When it takes me back, to how it used to be

All this time I've been holding on
Can't let go after all this long
Of trying to hide the pain in memories

Come on let me find my way
Without leaving, you in the past of this place
These three long years have changed all our moments,
But in the fall it still feels the same

This life's bitter yet this life's sweet
What we had then is what I can see
Laying here, stuck in faded dreams
All this time I've been holding on
Can't let go after all this long
Of trying to hide the pain in memories
I'm so tired of hiding pain in memories

Come on let me find my way
Without leaving, you in the past of this place
These three long years have changed all our moments
But in the fall it still feels the same
