_

We skipped school that day
Slithered and sweeped' right out the back door
The green of the woods was within reach
We passed through only to find the rest of the world
We walked
Talking of our woes and aches
Hearts and breaks
We came to a factory
Abandoned some time ago
We slithered and sweeped' right in the broken window
It was there we could see it and yet we didn't know
So young and inexperienced
It was there all along
In the rubble and tags
Broken bottles and bags
Lied the future
Of what's to come

Some may say it doesn't have to be this way
To that I say you aren't waiting long enough
Destruction will come and we will rebuild
But there will come a day
We is no more

I came home that day
With my mind full
I shut the water off and stood there until I dried
I grew that day
But I couldn't help but wonder
Why
