Captain of Pain

I woke up this morning with hangover
Laying on a wet, fat ground
My liver mourns, guess, health is over
Lungs are whistling with strange sound

Sunlight mocks and cuts my eyes
And stomach wants to go to fresh air
My body seems to stay forever where it lays
But I feel the need to hide somewhere

I stand up feeling every bruise
Trying to remember what I've done
All shots, long-drinks that I abused
All women that I tried to hook on

Legs of lead anchored my soul
But I need to get in blessed shadow
Breeze of wind – cool and foul
Moaning in my head's hollow

This empty sound makes me sick
But I humble endure what I gained
And there is no one to give me a kick
I am a captain of my pain

Sun is starting to burn my skin
But inside of me is a raging blizzard
I shake and feel how I become thin
Cold and wet like a lizard

At last I remember everything
Whiskey had been drunk from girls bellies
How they tried to get my thing
And how I smashed some guy's nose to jelly

On a long way to home I think
That my woman won't put up with it anymore
She always reacts too thick
When I drink and hang out with whores

She'll never accept and understand
But I tried to do the best I can
From my first inhale to the last stand
This is what I am
