Prodigal Brother

Wanted to show my full range

As the fam began to celebrate
Enemy already set the bait
The oldest son was the only one not present
We find him busy working the field with a spirit of resentment
See, his little bro cut ties to live in recklessness
Told the Father to hand over his settlement
Some say he should've been stoned for this behavior
But the Father showed mercy with hopes that this would change him
The younger son left down the road off the map
He left the older brother alone at home to hold the bag
The sudden return got folks looking like they don't know how to act
You can imagine the older bro is knowing that & ain't holding back
His anger bottled up like somebody shook a soda can
Can't believe they let'em walk up in here like he don't owe his dad
I heard he blew all his funds, but you already knew that he'd come
As the work day finished, music grew louder
The older son drew near to the sounds, but
Rather than to enter he pulled aside a servant
Asked about the party trying to determine the purpose
When he heard it was celebrating the young rebel
Bitterness within began to rage just like a devil
Instead of offering peace to his sibling he refused to partake in the festivities
Entreated by his father to humble himself and come inside
His answer was no surprise filled with presumptive pride
How he served for years & didn't disobey
But never received even a goat to his disdain
Accusations of favoritism mind set of a victim
Deep seeded hatred within him allow me to explain this depiction
God is the Father rich in mercy toward His children
Treating both sons as equal although different conditions
The younger a rebel the older is self righteous
Many shocked at the Father's reaction priceless
See both of'em were separated from the Father at heart
Jesus illustrates this instance describing the distance apart
Pharisees say this man receives sinners and eats with them
Many left His Presence once He began to teach to them
How would you respond if you seen your brother turn & come home
How will you receive the return of a lost soul
