Fossa Jugularis Sternalis

An ophidian affliction
Squirms through my restless tongue
Never succumbing to listlessness
I am drawn to
No, serenaded by
Your clavicular delicacies
The same itch occupies my meticulous fingertips
And I resist sleep so long as I can
Satisfy the taste buds burgeoning
Where taste buds ought not exist
Quelled most by the swells of your chest
And the brewing storm of seas beneath

Should I inadvertently sink teeth
Sink teeth
You must forgive this beast
Breeding hunger in my skull
Nothing seems to lull it
Unless you give in and forever supply
Your cadent pulse
For which I may ruthlessly devour
Ruthlessly devour
For you are an efflorescence of undiscovered flavors
And even in the proverbial afterlife
I know the desserts composing your throat
Will elude me

Only now they call my name
As if they always knew me
And soon so shall they know me
In every feasible way.
