Hopeless

Sometimes it feels like there's nothing but struggle
Like every step I take is laced with more trouble
And I try and see the path but it's blocked and broken
You can take the other way for 1,000 tokens
Course I've only got like 4 'cause I started from nothing
I try and work harder like that gets me something
This system's really made to keep you right where you are
While you buying lotto tickets in your overpriced car
While you working 40 plus to get farther behind
And the people at the top are playing golf on your dime
There's such a disconnect between rich and poor
And nothing makes money like oppression and war
It mostly looks far off though we live in the trenches
Ignorance is being spread like a viral infection
And I'm trying to not catch it trying to do no harm
Not to myself not to others need a shot in the arm

So when the storm's brewing
And you feel like quitting
We need a little bit of hope now
Yea I said it man a little bit of hope now
Play it off whichever way that you want
But if you hopeless you ain't got squat

Sometimes my mind goes straight haywire
And everywhere I look yo I'm putting out fires
And I'm trying to concentrate at least multi-task
But it's like I've got a browser with 30 tabs
And I'm reading from them all right at the same time
Not picking up much 'cause I can't clear my mind
On one of them tabs an alert it's a flashing
Another's playing music it's another distraction
I try and x them out and two more pop up
So I'm running through my list trying to check them all off
And like no matter what I'm always thinking 'bout money
It's a burden when you broke man I've never had plenty
Still I'm scattered and it matters 'cause I'm needing to focus
Need to regain the momentum that was earlier broken
And pull it back together get it back in the zone
I need a moment of clarity and I'm taking it home

Sometimes I get a couple of moments to breath
And I take a look around man I truly believe
That amongst all the chaos the hustle and bustle
Even when it comes around and feels like nothing but trouble
There's bound to be some light a helping hand in the dark
To ignite that fire all you need is a spark
And just a little bit of light is seen from miles around
We can change the conversation we can change the sound
So when you look around and see nothing but demons
And you battling that big bad at the end of the season
And you thinking to yourself there's no way I can win
Find that spark see the light Feel the fire within
Let it flow through your veins like you know it in your bones
Can't nobody come and take your damn throne
It's the time it's the place yo it's the time to rebel
I smell change in the air only time will tell
