Cartoons

We're quite a ways out from where we used to be
It seems the highway's brought us where we don't wanna be
The sun is pouring in, darkness on retreat
My rearview mirror shows our past very honestly
What do I see

You're on the floor praying He'll take your weight
But silence floods the room with no escape
But you kept on
You brought your misadventures to the surface, evidently
It won't be long until the silence breaks
And I'm gone

I wanna take you with me it doesn't really matter
I guess we just ran out of time
The pain is never knowing I really must be going
You know that I'll turn out alright

I step onboard its time for me to fly away
My world is quickly reframed through a fiberglass pane
Put seatbelts tight, if weathers right, we'll be down by eight
But nothing could prepare me for this change

The fight is really mental, it
Is something that is permanent
You made sure I was ready for this day
You faced your antagonist
Dénouement it has happened yet
You know that doesn't mean I get to stay

I wanna take you with me it doesn't really matter
I guess we just ran out of time
The pain is never knowing I really must be going
You know that I'll turn out alright
