Démbu Sénégal
Our foundation is kindness, and help each other
We have to love human being
Times ain't changed much
Just a few hours ahead when we hang up
Met a man on the street, still had sand on his feet
Almost drowned in the water till he came up
Wasn't born with a silver spoon
Made a knife out a rock, went fishing in a swimming pool
Got a lot of common sense but didn't finish school
Dead tired uninspired in his living room
Doing well for himself I gotta give it to em
Try not to get caught up in what he isn't doing
All he asked for was a prayer so I sent it to em
May God continue to be a blessing through em
It's a story in his eyes, when you listen to em
Understanding is the goal when I kick it to em
That ain't the moral of the story but we getting to it
The moral of the story is we getting to it
If we never have a convo
We'll never hear the bongos
A rhythym in the air
Instrumental to the where
Who, what, when
Wise women listen to the wind
Wise men listen for a friend
A stranger might be your next of kin
Show love and be love to the end
You know what is special about Africa, about Senegal
Senegal is a very privileged country
If you look Senegal is the most western point of Africa
For one thing, We never had any coupe, any social disruption
Any civil war
That's one thing
I never been to school in my life
I forced to speak english in my life
And French and a little bit of Dutch
And a little bit of Italian
And some of Serer, like Pulaar
I'm forced to understand what's going on in the world
Because I see people and they're higher higher higher and higher
We are the kids of paradise
Tomorrow we go back to paradise
Because we are the friends of God
God loves us, Yea
Yea, I never travel anywhere in my life because I love Africa
I love my country
Africa is the future
Thanks ladies and gentlemen, everybody
I'm very glad
Peace, and Love
