Like A Blade Of Grass
My angst lacked originality
So I stewed myself in the summer
Everyday, like a blade of grass
Trapped against a rock at the river's edge
17 hours later, I sink from the surface to its depths
Not on my volition, by divination
Amused by my childish ways:
The fish who idle
The tortoise who trudges
As the undercurrent drags me
The lower I sink (?)
The streams flow out to the delta
The delta to the sea
I am a blade of grass under the sea
My direction is decided by the undercurrent
I've loved so many times to take me where I wound up
So I stewed myself in the summer
Everyday, like a blade of grass
Trapped against a rock at the river's edge
17 hours later, I sink from the surface to its depths
Not on my volition, by divination
Amused by my childish ways:
The fish who idle
The tortoise who trudges
As the undercurrent drags me
The lower I sink (?)
The streams flow out to the delta
The delta to the sea
I am a blade of grass under the sea
My direction is decided by the undercurrent
I've loved so many times to take me where I wound up
