Stonehenge

From the stardust that we come from
To the stardust that we earn
To the stardust that we long for
To the stardust that we burn

Hey how you been we haven't met in a while
Busy spinning up in circles tangled knots in wires
Word out in the open they've been living their lives
To a summer in the sun over in times devour
Shower drenched in the rain seeking heaven in those towers
You were crying through the night and I was wasting bar light hours
Power without the knowledge of how to cease when admired
But now retired to the bottle tectonic plates shift in ire
Names we've ever known on the road that we've lost
Names we never knew we hand't even got
To all the names that follow you and what till you drop
All the blame you've taken when you didn't know what you got
Renowned poet on a lyre framed in octaves and choirs
Knowing only the prayer when things hang by a wire
You might think that these shackles may degrade the attire
But we're bound through a remorseful blend of desire

And I've been waiting on a summers day
And I've been waiting on a winters day
And I've been waiting on a sunny day
And I've been waiting on a rainy day

A thousand pages written a thousand pages burned
A thousand more wither the restless chapters turn
The warmest welcomes written now harder to discern
Where once our knees would tremble that's where we know adjourn
Stardust turns to stardust she whispers in my ear
Harnessed in a discount Starbucks now it's clear
I should have known eternity needed to be extended
In a place where we wonder if it really existed
Like hearts that never broke but also never mended
Where something began but never really ended
But in that sublime moment frozen in mime
We were one in our spirits and one in our minds
And maybe that's the reason I've been bleeding in rhymes
Or maybe you're just a witness for the essence divine
Remember all those words I spoke to those pastors
Remember how I fought and I begged to find answers
Shores that were shut empty threats empty masters
Mercy to stones showing mercy to casters
Run rivers red on my way to steal chapters
Lambs from the mud willed themselves into raptors
Building up dreams since those times we were young
Fresh morning handouts ain't like the rising sun
I look to the news kids outside with guns
Thankful up in here we haven't a single one
That's when you see the face of a father
The one who spent seventeen years carrying his kid on his shoulders
The one who hasn't missed a single home run
The one who got up after burying his own son

And I've stood standing on a summers day
And I've stood standing on a winters days
And I've stood standing in the pouring rain
And I've stood waiting till the snow remains

The plagues never falter the sun often sets
No waste of a sigh and no waste of a breath
The wind now implies that the water is wet
And the water replies that the wind is Sekhmet
To know to will to dare and then to keep silent
The sphinx now mocks the Phoenix because it's never violent
Dare to wear the foolish clown face in all climates
Dare to move the earth without using divine tridents
Hearts that never broke but also never mended
Where something began but never really ended
And maybe that's the reason I've been bleeding in rhymes
Or maybe you're just a witness for the essence divine
Renowned poet on a lyre framed in octaves and choirs
Knowing only the prayer when things hang by a wire
You might think that these shackles may degrade the attire
But we're bound through a remorseful blend of desire
