Strung Out On a Song

Leaving deep ellum made a hundred dollar bill
Cheap hotel and a little gas enough left to drink my fill
I'm digging deep and i have been all along
Checking doors I've closed just a picking through the bones
Do i go back to my foolish ways where i don't belong
Or bring back my wickedness just to point out all my wrongs
Maybe it will come maybe its long gone
Write it all in blood so Im strung out on a song
Red wine sunset and weary bloodshot eyes
I stare into my memories how they fade in time
I think Ill cross the Jordan and get to the other side
Have a look around see what words I find
Do i go back to my foolish ways where I don't belong
Or bring back my wickedness just to point out all my wrongs
Maybe it will come maybe its long gone
Write it all in blood so I'm strung out on a song
Its darker days
Its poetry gone wrong
Its a price that's paid
To be strung out on a song
