Family Album

Well, I went back home to visit my folks and I saw a book upon shell
Pulled it down and started flipping through, saw some appalling ruins of myself
I was two years old running through the sprinkler with the popsicle in my hand
And in the background blurry, you can see my mama kissing on my old man
I started thinking about you
Hey girl, you know what we ought to do

Let's make a three ring band around of our three ring circus life
Just a couple of kids living in color and black and white
And before you know it, we'll be running out of pages
40 years and counting
So, what you say, baby?
Let's make a family album

Yeah, we started out with a night we met in a bar hanging with our friends
Then I'll be in a tux, she'll be in a white dress
Just a couple pages in
Then the beach motels and road trips
We started to disappear and turn into new babies
Fisher Price and birthdays every year

I wanna make a three ring band around of our three ring circus life
Just a couple of kids living in color and black and white
And before you know it, we'll be running out of pages
40 years and counting
So, what you say, baby?
Let's make a family album, yeah
Let's make a family album

Well, the reds and blues and greens might fade but the memories never will
Girl, I think we got the kind of love that can make time stand still

In a three ring band made of our three ring circus life
Just a couple of kids living in color and black and white
And before you know it, we'll be running out of pages
40 years and counting
So, what you say, baby?
Let's make a family album, yeah
Make a family album

Well, I went back home to visit my folks and I saw a book upon shell
