Lava Lake

In the land of perplexing adults
Affected by, yet unaware of their mistakes
I grew up in a church I now know was a cult
They hypnotized me, but I now am awake
They kept their thumb on me and my friends
Worried their so called sins we'd remake
I desired sex, but sex was the devil
Fever dreaming on lava lake

Seeking sweetness only found pillars of salt
So I accidentally adapted the savory
The temper of the elder who to you yells "Halt!"
And picks you up by the ear to teach you to act neighborly
Dressed in color while dancing in dazzling darkness believing you're fully awake
I think they stole a page from the devil
Fever dreaming on lava lake

Fever dreaming on lava lake
Fever dreaming on lava lake

I watched the pastor lose his song
While he lost himself in savior chemicals
Checking for any psychic powers
To give this whole room a shake
And I was terrified of myself
Cause my brain would envision a picture of hell
It would animate the scene of the devil
Fever dreaming on lava lake

Fever dreaming on lava lake
Fever dreaming on lava lake
Fever dreaming on lava lake
Fever dreaming on lava lake
Fever dreaming on lava lake
Fever dreaming on lava lake

I think they stole a page from the devil
Fever dreaming on lava lake
