Kingdom of the Moths

Watch them contort, console, disrobe, control
Most feeling they have lost
A sacrificial cost, an artificial loss

Sure as the flame lacks judgment
Right as the rain on seed
See them convey, display, congest, dismay
Of comforts they know naught
An analgesic loft, a laryngeal cough

All of their dirt work sponsored
And precision training received
Down at the altar of the moths
Where the shelter is hard-fought
Note how they crumble into blots

They thought it was cool to be divorced
A status symbol for the course
Watch them assault, arrange, embrace, estrange
From rapids they will wash
Ashore but at what cost

In this kingdom of the moths
There are workers but no work force
Infections without a source
Blocked in alleys, caught in waves
Discovering new mainstays
Reptiles on a block
