Cosmic Knot

I wonder deeply about existence
About what it means to be alive
A complex series of events
Leads to a universe that is both dead and alive
My thoughts exist in my head
Maybe to stay but likely to wisp away
Are the motions and actions
Thoughts and ideas of the cosmos holograms?
A preprogrammed eternity
Or does there exist true randomness?
Do we have a future that does not yet exist?
As we travel through space
We must travel through time
The secret laws of nature
Do not need to be divine
Each moment we live
Is a moment that's gone
A memory now past
To reflect upon
What's the point of having a future?
If it's only to die?
Is it worth the brief bit of happiness
If it means having to cry
On the line of infinity
Our lives are only a dot
Entangled in the fabric of space
Everything lost in a knot
I wonder deeply about existence
About what it means to be alive
A complex series of events
Leads to a universe that is both dead and alive
My thoughts exist in my head
Maybe to stay but likely to wisp away
