Roots Don't Take in Sand

Watching the cliffs and the shining sea
I wonder why I don't live here
Got many answers, none of them
is that I enjoy to live elsewhere
And I still wonder
don't want to leave again

Here are my roots, strong and deep,
down these red fields
can't grow without the sun,
where the earth has no colors
Home is where language like sea salt
tastes so savory
where songs and poetry smell as good
as tobacco leaves
The stars and the sea, the cliff and the rocks,
they make this place my home

I belong to these old stones
they're my ancestors and tell me words
of ancient myths,
welcoming souls

Here are my roots, strong and deep,
down these red fields
can't grow without the sun,
where the earth has no colors
Home is where language like sea salt
tastes so savory
where songs and poetry smell as good
as tobacco leaves
The stars and the sea, the cliff and the rocks,
they make this place my home
