I Too Could Become Versed

I've been lining up all my past and future enemies
So many me's there I can barely see for all the trees

I'd find comfort in knowing that I too could become versed
But judging by the a posteriori I'm heading nowhere, head first

I've learned a lot of tricks and one or two secret handshakes
But I find myself ever so reluctant to participate

And even though I dream of mankind vibrating as one
Sometimes when I read the papers, man, I feel we haven't even begun

I know I'm guaranteed infections when I'm using biased news as gauze
But hey man I'm just out here with a hay fever, grasping for straws

So if you see me, please remind me of Fresco's tidbit
That it's not humanity that disappoints me, it's my presumptions of it
