But life got a habit of passing us faster

Matter of fact they just seem to move faster
And the more you be trying to hold on to the present
The stress from it just comes unwrap em
That's why I'm obsessed with the moments I capture

Those photos remind me to go more
And see more and be more than just a bitch punching a clock every day
Just so I can get paid
Way less than these whiteys no smarter than me
The difference is they got a college degree
But their mom and dad could afford the tuition
Mine went out the door when I got off the team
Cuz I had to work and help mama out
As a teen this is what my life's all about
And that path went through all of my twenties and thirties
At 41 still what I follow now

They say stressing will give you an old face
Well I'm guessing I'm blessed with the Lord's grace
Cuz I look in the mirror still see a young nigga
Who's skin similar to new born babies
But if you look in my eyes
Through the windows of my soul
You'll see the weight I hold
This smile will disguise
And I just wanna tell everybody I'm tired
But in back of my mind I'm hoping they notice
Hoping they know this is taking its toll
On my body, my soul
I'm out of my mind
When these got damn emotions get outta control
And be wearing me down
Heavy's the head that be wearing the crown
The heaviest heart I been carrying around
But you couldn't tell it cuz I'm never wearing a frown

Uplifting the same ones who letting me down
And think I'm so much of a pleasure to be around
Some tell me that I got the purest
And realest most healing-est spirit to ever be found
And I can not tell em sometimes I be feeling so down
When it looks my head in the clouds
Be talking to all of my angels above
And be begging for strength for what I carry around
The motivator needing motivating
To motivate who needs motivation
And every time I eat through all of these obstacles
Seems like God says I got one more plate for you
Pops told me it's just my calling
Sometimes I don't wanna pick up that line
But when my people tangled in life's cords
See my heart just can't leave em in that bind
And my mind be telling me draw the line
But I think my conscience is somewhat blind
Cuz it doesn't see a limit on what I could give anyone
Going through troubled times
Money, time, or just good energy
Be giving it all until it empties me
Then I take a flight to recharge
Where I'm closer to God
