The Selfish Cycle (of Self-Centeredness)

Cole works across the street at the local supermart
There's lots of things to do like fix up the shopping carts
Most days he's stocking shelves until he's gotta close up shop
And when that time comes he knows that he should stop

Shuffling through the boss's desk
What could put his mind at rest?

Hey Mr Boss Man
I think we've had enough
Gotta survive but at what cost

When Cole comes home from work there's no time to entertain
There's not enough food for the family to sustain
The kids ask him how was work dad and he just mutters fine
As he gets in to bed he stumbles over wine

Drinking all his thoughts away
Tomorrow's gonna be the same

Hey Mr Boss Man
I think we've had enough
Gotta survive but at what cost

Cole sits at home now after drinking on the job
Things need to change after his wife called him a slob
But life's not so for different for the boss who ran the store
His greed's caught up to him and now he can't ignore

The people that he pushed around
Now they're pulling him back down

Hey Mr Boss Man
I think we've had enough
Gotta survive but at what cost
