Youth

I miss the roads we used to roam when we were young
I miss the days we spent outside playing in the sun
I miss the times when we would sneak out every night
And meet at dark underneath the only lit light
I miss the two pm rides home from school
And back for track when we could hardly stand at all
I miss the days we only talked about the nights
We laughed so hard we were oblivious to time
I miss the car we used to drive around at night
With the lyrics loud until the tears we couldn't hide

And Ohhhh i'm not ready to leave my youth
And Ohhhh i'm too scared to face the truth

I miss the mellow yellow drinks down in my fridge
I miss the days we went to lunch just for kicks
I miss the table where we talked about the world
We sat two hours long and talked about the girls
I miss the pool we used to play in everyday
You take the deep end and we'll start to walk this way
I miss the darkest point of nights when we were out
We had to call our moms and tell her that we were out

And Ohhhh i'm not ready to leave my Youth
And Ohhhh i'm too scared to face the truth
